A rose by any other name . . .

A Sacred Intimate by any other name . . .

Today, as a contemporary, neo-pagan, spiritually ecelectic, occasionally practical, endeavoring to be grounded Priestess in the urban landscape, I find that the "names" are not as crucial as the CONSCIOUS, SHARED, SACRED INTENT (healing goal and outcome.)

Call me a:

- A Priestess of Love
- A Sacred Prostitute
- A Qadishtu
- A Heriodule
- A Heteratae
- A Courtesan
- A good friend
- A Healer
- A Sexual Shaman
- A Sex Worker
- A Sex Therapist
- A Masseuse
- A Sensual Masseuse

I would still want us to SPEAK of our desires and hopes, our limits/commitments and boundaries. Perhaps even our fears and concerns.

Pleasure, Beauty, Touch, Sensuality can all be extremely nourishing, healing and re-energizing.

They can also be addictions, manipulations and even physically, spiritually or emotionally damaging.

If a am truly a Sacred Intimate (and a seeker - I am always both). And I am committed to this spiritual path, then responsibility rests her wings upon me, to SPEAK, to share CONSCIOUSNESS, to invoke INTENTION and integrity. How else are we to heal (become whole/holy) and to integrate (our forgotten, lost, hidden selves into our own loving inner family.)

Ultimately the Sacred Marriage, the Heiros Gamos, needs to take place inside each of us. The healing and balancing of our own Yin/Yang, our own Sacred Masculine & Sacred Feminine.

When I bring the Sacred Masculine to you (and to myself) I can:
- Protect
- Direct
- Inseminate with ideas
- Defend (especially my and your boundaries)
- Build
- Inspire your relaxing and opening

When I bring the Sacred Feminine to you (and to myself) I can:
- Nourish
- Support
- Source
- Enfold
- Create
- Open and inspire your strength

The past, our ancient histories, our parents histories, our own histories have much to teach us. They have much we can learn from. And today, informed by the past but not limited by it, we can move into the present and the future incorporating new learnings in NLP, psychology, somatic movement, massage, psychic development, quantum physics etc etc to birth a new kind of Sacred Priest/ess of Love.
